bulgaria: sinemorets aka the edge of civilization

July 3, 2008 at 7:54 am | Posted in adventures, bulgaria | Leave a comment

by sandra and frank.

after leaving belovo, frank and i stayed two night with his friend george.  frank knows george from the peace corps and george lives in bulgara now.  we enjoyed our time with him at his soon to be artists’ retreat.

next we drove with george to sinemorets, a black sea coast town on the edge of bulgaria and turkey.  we were a little shell shocked when we first arrived but have enjoyed relaxing on the beach and swimming in the sea.  the sea is much warmer and calmer than the pacific or atlantic oceans.

we don’t have time to post more, but we hope to soon.  there’s not much internet here and it is expensive.  we just wanted to update everyone and let you know that we’re alive and doing well (except for frank’s burnt legs).
